Cool detail about the Canvas Capri Tufted Hammock, No. 27: Because padding is so uncommonly thick and the hammock-bed contours hug your body so nicely, you can actually shift from side to side in one of our Tufted Hammocks with far less chance of accidentally tipping it than you'd ever have in a more conventional hammock. And then presto, your hammock is suddenly swaying nicely, like a boat riding atop small swells, even in the absence of a breeze!
The hammock fabric is two layers of solution-dyed synthetic Sunbrella sandwiching a thick center of nonabsorbent polyester hollowfill fiber made from recycled plastic drink bottles; the front layer is the Canvas Capri color; the back is a solid neutral color.
The most recognized name in outdoor fabric, Sunbrella is not only resistant to rot, mold, mildew and staining, but is also exceptionally colorfast, with a softness on par with cotton.
The hammock's pillowy contours are created by eight well-placed nickel-plated rolled-rim grommets, which have the added distinction of preventing rainwater from pooling in the hammock bed, draining instead quickly and efficiently.
The hammock bed is framed by two thick spreader bars of richly hued, deeply grained, unfinished South American cumaru, among the densest, prettiest, woods on Earth. Chains and hanging hardware are handsome, rust-resistant zinc-plated steel.
The Canvas Capri Tufted Hammock includes an attachable trapezoidal tufted head-pillow of the same fabric and plush center of recycled polyester hollowfill fiber.
